I have a problem with Intros. With the whole tell people about yourself thing. Because all I think is "Who am I?..." And of course the answer is:
Like, I'm singing it right now. |
I am an aspiring home chef and an avid crafter. I'm also technically a lawyer. I say technically because I am licensed but I am at home with the wee ones for the time being. Which means I blog to keep me sane. Or simulate adult conversation. Or something.
I went to law school as a single mom but was lucky enough to meet a great guy and get remarried.
I have two wee small things. A big wee small thing and teeny wee small thing. I love them both because they are awesome.
I've loved cooking and crafting since I was big enough to steal eggs from the fridge (which was age two) and pretend to 'cook' in my toy kitchen. As I got older I was able to have free reign of the kitchen as my mom wasn't much of a cook.
This is me about age 10
Somewhere some designer is slowly burning in the seventh level of fashion hell for creating that shirt. |
I got over that. And surprisingly my cooking got a lot better. I think for my 13th birthday I got all was mixing bowls and measuring spoons (incidentally I got some of that for Christmas this past year as well - what can I say? People know me).
When I moved out and went to college I continued to bake/cook/craft/write. And as I progressed I realized that just as important as the ingredients was the technique.
For this reason when I post a recipe I try to make it for the absolute beginner. I try to explain 'how' I did it, not just 'what' I did. I like to add a lot of photos because I have learned a lot the hard way.
I also like to write random posts so hopefully they are occasionally funny:)
I love comments - so weigh in! And in the words of the Sirius Cybernetics Company "Share and Enjoy" (and if you get that we should be best friends)
