Ridiculously Easy Balsamic Green Beans

Simple Balsamic Green Beans

(shown with Lemon Chicken with Tarragon and Wine Sauce and Zesty Roast Potatoes)

When I say simple...I mean simple. Like you are going to have to work hard to mess this up.

THE RECIPE:

Special Equipment:

1. Saute pan
2. Kitchen scissors

Ingredients:

1. 2 c. Haricots Vert (or however much you need for dinner - you should know, you're eating it!)
Scale-it-Down: Since haricots vert can be rather expensive, you can always sub out regular fresh green beans)
2. 1 tsp. olive oil
3. 1 1/2 tbsp balsamic vinegar
Scale-it-Up: Balsamic vinegar ranges widely in price, experiment with a more 'gourmet' balsamic vinegar to vary the taste
4. Sea Salt to taste (this means as much or little as you like. I use a couple healthy shakes)
Switch-it-Out: If there is no sea salt to hand, regular salt will do!

Directions:

1. Heat your saute pan to medium low and add the balsamic vinegar. Allow it to cook, agitating the pan occasionally, while you prepare your beans.
2. Rinse the haricots vert thoroughly.  Take your kitchen scissors and clip the ends.
3. Add the oil to the pan with the balsamic vinegar and raise the heat to medium.
4. Throw in the green beans and saute them for 9 minutes - moving them around occasionally. You will know they are done when you try a bite and they are tender with a bit of a crunch.
5. Sprinkle some sea salt on to taste and serve!

If you messed that up you should be seriously ashamed of yourself right now <3
